A Brief History Of Formula Ford
The UK Formula Ford Championship is about to begin its 40th consecutive year of operation. Drivers who excel in Formula ford often move on to other exciting ventures.

The championship has always had tight technical regulations, which are constantly being reviewed and updated by staff at Boreham, and now also Dunton Research Centre to ensure maximum safety for all involved.

Formula ford's freedom of chassis design, engine build and many technical items of specification on the car, this drives the technical standards to exceptionally high levels from both teams and drivers.

Engineering freedom permitted by Formula Ford that is only permitted by two other driving formulae in the world, which are Formula Three, and Formula One, helps drivers to develop an exceptional level of understanding of car set up and the implications of each chassis variation they try. This is often the reason that their careers progress so far. For those with serious ambition for a driving career, Formula Ford is an essential learning experience.
